 The South Carolina Hospital
Association (SCHA) sponsors the mySChospital program. The SCHA is a non-profit membership group that advocates for the ability of its members
to provide high quality health care services to South Carolina communities.
SCHA is working in partnership with The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence
(CCME) and the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA). CCME is a non-profit health care
quality improvement organization (QIO) serving both North and South
Carolina. WHA is a non-profit membership group based in Madison, Wisconsin.
SCHA's quality council and board of trustees guide the development of mySChospital
using the principles
below.
The mySChospital public information system will be:
- Collaborative – foster active participation by health care providers, payers, and
consumers
- Consumer Centered – inform and educate consumers on
decision-making in health care
- Protect Privacy – protect consumer privacy by reporting data at a hospital level
- Evidence-Based – encourage research-based practices by providers and consumers
- Incremental Development – evolve slowly focusing on areas of greatest impact
- Voluntary – encourage voluntary and non-exclusive participation by providers, payers, and
consumers
