 In January 2008,
mySChospital began reporting hospital quality and safety measures. Over time,
additional measures are added which increase the number of diseases and
procedures. In addition, the same data may be presented in more than one way to
better explain the information.
Recent addition: On January 26, 2009, the mySChospital.org website
(www.mySChospital.org) incorporated the HCAHPS patient experience of care
information. The data for this report comes directly from the national Hospital
Compare Web site. Please refer to Talking Points
for further information.
The SCHA Quality Council and the SCHA Board will need to approve the addition of
the new measures listed below.
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Inpatient Quality
Indicators (QIs) are a set of measures that can be used with hospital inpatient
discharge data to provide a perspective on quality. They reflect quality of care
inside hospitals including inpatient mortality for medical conditions and
surgical procedures. Please refer to the AHRQ Fact Sheet for a complete list of inpatient quality indicators.
If approved, these measures are expected to be available in 2009.
